U.S. Military to Resume High-Level Dialogue with Russia After Over Four Years

Feb 06, Kathmandu - The United States military has agreed to restart high-level military talks with Russia, following discussions held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This marks the first such engagement in more than four years since the suspension.

The U.S. European Command issued a statement confirming the development, stating, “This channel of communication was suspended in the fall of 2021, just before the outbreak of conflict.”

The term "conflict" refers to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The dialogue is set to resume after a meeting between U.S. European Command Commander General Alexis G. Grinkevich and senior Russian and Ukrainian military officials in Abu Dhabi.
