Feb 06, Kathmandu - CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has claimed to make Jhapa 'Suryamaya'. Oli, who reached Jhapa on Friday for election campaigning, claimed that candidates carrying the sun flag will win in all areas of the district.
Oli, who is also a former Prime Minister, has become a candidate from Jhapa-5. Oli, who was previously elected from the same area, is being challenged by senior leader Balendra Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the elections to be held on Falgun 21. Shah, who resigned from the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has joined the RSP and entered the election competition.
Oli visited Jhapa for the first time after registering his candidacy on Magh 20. It is understood that he will stay in Jhapa in the coming days and focus on election campaigning.
