Feb 06, Kathmandu - Doctors and nurses working in the emergency room of Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center have been assaulted by relatives of patients.

Medical officers, staff nurses and security guards working in the emergency room were assaulted by relatives of patients in the office on Thursday afternoon.

The hospital has stated that the relatives of an 83-year-old woman who came from Sindhupalchowk for treatment assaulted the doctors, saying that she had died. However, the patient is safe, informed the hospital director Dr. Ravi Malla.

The relatives of the patient have assaulted the doctors and nurses and also vandalized the hospital. The police have arrested two people who assaulted them. Those arrested are Hari Bahadur Gurung and Suraj Gurung of Nisankhu 6, Sindhupalchowk.
