Feb 07, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep condolences towards the untimely demise of veteran actor Sunil Thapa, describing his passing as the loss of a "strong pillar" in both the Nepali and Indian film industries.

Thapa, aged 68, passed away this morning following a heart attack. His career spanned over four decades, during which he became a household name across South Asia.

In a formal condolence message, Prime Minister Karki highlighted Thapa’s extraordinary range as an artist. She noted that he had the unique ability to win over millions of hearts, whether playing a menacing antagonist or a supportive mentor.
