Feb 07, Kathmandu - Lumbini Province's first online taxi and motorcycle service, 'Edrive Nepal', has officially launched its service in Nepalgunj from today.
Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City Prashant Bista launched the service today. The service has been launched in Banke and Bardiya from today.
On the occasion, Mayor Bista said, 'I believe that such technology-friendly services will facilitate the city's transportation services and provide safe and reliable services to the citizens.'
He said that the electric taxi service launched in Nepalgunj has created an environment for working in one's own country.
The Edrive service, which was launched in the Butwal-Bhairahawa area eighteen months ago, has now been expanded to Nepalgunj, the main city of Banke, informed Edrive Lumbini Director Bijay Bhandari.
According to him, from today, the Edrive Nepal service has been expanded to Banke and Bardiya simultaneously.
Director Bhandari said, "In a context where the service system is becoming digital with technology, we have launched the service in Nepalgunj with the aim of providing safe, easy and accessible services through online means by connecting taxi services with technology."
In the program, Edrive Lumbini President Rajkumar Gupta informed that this service was started with the aim of making young people self-employed and creating jobs in the country.
He said, "Our aim is to create jobs in the country instead of forcing young people to go abroad. We have planned to expand the Edrive service across the country in the coming days."
Currently, Edrive Lumbini has invested more than 70 million rupees. Currently, Edrive, which has been providing services through 110 taxis and more than 500 motorcycle drivers in Rupandehi, has started its service in Nepalgunj with 15 electric taxis in the initial phase, said Director Bhandari of Edrive Lumbini.
