Feb 10, Kathmandu - A passenger bus bound for Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu met with a tragic accident on the afternoon of Magh 27, plunging into the Tamakoshi River at Tribeni Ghat, Manthali Municipality-6. The incident resulted in the deaths of six individuals on the spot, while five others were rescued with injuries.
The bus, bearing the registration number Province 3-01-005 Kha 9975, fell approximately 20 meters into the river around 10:45 AM. Emergency response teams, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel from Ramche and rescue divers from Besh Khurkot, swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations.
Among the deceased are two men and four women. The five injured survivors have been taken to Khurkot District Hospital for treatment. Authorities are still determining the total number of passengers onboard at the time of the accident. Rescue efforts are ongoing.
