Nepal Loses Toss, Elects to Bat against West Indies, Sompal in Action

Feb 15, Kathmandu - Nepal has lost the toss against West Indies in the third match of the group stage under the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Nepali team has made one change for today's match. Sompal Kami has come in place of Lalit Rajbanshi in Nepal's playing 11.

After losing the first two matches in the group stage, the remaining matches are also important for Nepal and there is pressure to win. West Indies, on the other hand, are on the verge of reaching the Super 8 with two consecutive wins.

If West Indies win the match against Nepal, they will reach the Super 8 while Nepal will be eliminated one match early. Nepal is not in a position to reach even if they win both matches. They will have to rely on other results as well.
