President observes Maha Shivratri celebrations in Tundikhel

Feb 15, Kathmandu - President Ram Chandra Poudel has attended a special ceremony organized by the Nepali Army at the Tundikhel Military Forum on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 263rd anniversary of the establishment of the Nepali Army. President Poudel, along with First Lady Sabita Poudel, attended the parade and military art exhibition-2082 organized by the Nepali Army on Sunday morning.

On the occasion, the Nepali Army offered a salute in honor of President Poudel. President Poudel is the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army. He offered a wreath at the military memorial located there. During the ceremony, the army displayed various attractive battle tactics, march passes, and traditional costumes, as well as various arts, dances, and music.

On the occasion, President Poudel released the Sipahi magazine published by the Nepali Army. He presented awards to the best individuals at the exhibition.

At the event, the Nepali Army displayed vehicles, equipment, and weapons used in peacekeeping missions. On the occasion, the Nepali Army performed a march pass at the military forum and offered a bouquet of flowers from a helicopter. In addition, Mahashivaratri was celebrated with rifles and cannons and an attractive parade was presented.

At the ceremony, President Poudel presented gifts to the band team leaders of friendly countries India, Britain and the United States.

The program was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, heads and representatives of various diplomatic missions in Nepal, the Chief of Army Staff and heads of security agencies, high-ranking government officials and distinguished dignitaries from various sectors of society.
