Feb 17, Kathmandu - Police have detained two individuals with 955 kilograms of marijuana from Bardanda, Ward 20 of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City.
Under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhishan Babu Rai, a police team from the District Police Office conducted a raid last night while inspecting two pickup trucks heading from Dandakuta, Dhanukot, towards Bishnupaduka in Dharan. During the search, the consignment of marijuana was seized.
According to District Police Office spokesperson Chandra Khadka, 495 kilograms of marijuana were recovered from a pickup truck with license plate number Bagmati Province-01-027C 1143, driven by Sandeep Kumar Majhi of Kolhabi Municipality-8, Bara. An additional 460 kilograms were seized from a vehicle with license plate BC 3236, driven by 33-year-old Nagendra Raj Shrestha of Chandragiri Municipality-8.
Both individuals, along with the vehicles, have been taken into custody for further investigation, police said.
