Feb 17, Kathmandu - On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, devotees and sadhus, including Nagabaal and other saints, were bid farewell with donations and offerings at Pashupatinath Temple. The Guthi Sansthan and the Pashupati Area Development Trust organized the farewell ceremony, providing monetary gifts and offerings to the revered saints.
The organization allocated a budget of approximately 3 million NPR for the event. On the day of the event, colorful cards in red, blue, white, yellow, and green were distributed to the sadhus and saints as tokens of respect and blessings.
Among the recipients, those holding red cards received 11,000 NPR, while those with purple cards were given 6,000 NPR. Blue-card holders received 4,000 NPR, yellow cards came with 2,500 NPR, green cards with 1,100 NPR, and those with rose-colored cards received 551 NPR. White-card holders were given a modest donation of 200 NPR.
The event highlights the deep-rooted tradition of honoring saints and devotees during significant religious festivals at one of Nepal’s most sacred sites.
