Feb 19, Kathmandu - Congress Chairman Gagan Thapa has said that healthcare for citizens will be made free.
At the election manifesto launch event, Thapa said that healthcare for citizens is the responsibility of the state and will be made free.
He said, "Every citizen should be insured and worry-free about the medical expenses of himself and his family by joining health insurance. No matter how much the treatment costs, every citizen should be proud of the state and be able to say with confidence - I have an insurance card in my pocket, what am I afraid of?"
Stating that the health insurance program started by the Congress has been shelved, he said that free healthcare will be provided to any Nepali who suffers from any disease.
Chairman Thapa also said that health insurance will be made a program of national pride.
