CPN-UML Announces Financial Support for Pregnant Women Ahead of Elections

Feb 19, Kathmandu - In a bold move ahead of the upcoming elections, the CPN-UML has announced a new welfare scheme targeting pregnant women. The party revealed its election manifesto on Thursday, pledging to provide a maternal allowance of NPR 20,000 to women during pregnancy.

The manifesto emphasizes efforts to curb the declining birth rate by offering financial incentives to expectant mothers. Additionally, UML has committed to doubling transportation expenses for pregnant women travelling from home to health facilities for prenatal and postnatal checkups.

This initiative aims to improve maternal health and encourage higher birth rates, aligning with the party's broader social welfare objectives.
