Three Indian Nationals Caught Smuggling Nearly 11.3 Kilograms of Cannabis at Tribhuvan International Airport

Feb 20, Kathmandu - Three Indian nationals were arrested today from the arrival tunnel gate of Tribhuvan International Airport with about 11 kilograms and 270 grams of illegal drugs, including marijuana.

The arrested are 43-year-old Sameena Akhtar Baig Mirza, 24-year-old Mohammad Junaid, and 44-year-old Afsana Amir Hussain Sheikh, informed Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abinarayan Kafle. He said that police deployed from the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office and the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Mohammad Junaid and Sameena Akhtar Baig Mirza with about 3 kilograms and 870 grams of the drugs, and Afsana with about 7 kilograms and 400 grams of the drugs today.

The three arrested have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau today for necessary investigation and action, Spokesperson Kafle said.
