High Court of Pokhara Seeks Halt to Screening of 'Ramita Ko Pirati' Amid Legal Challenge

Feb 20, Kathmandu - The High Court of Pokhara has filed a writ petition demanding a ban on the screening of the film 'Ramita Ko Pirati'.

Advocates Sristi Bhatta and Laxmi Tamang submitted the petition on Friday, Falgun 8. The petition requests a temporary injunction to stop the film's screening.

The petition names the Film Development Board, the production company Shiro Films Pvt Ltd, producer Sagar Lamsal, and others as respondents. It alleges that the film promotes hatred and disgust towards men, thereby disturbing social harmony.

The petition also claims that the film was approved for screening by the Film Screening Board without proper evaluation. Currently, 'Ramita Ko Pirati' is being shown in various theatres across Kathmandu Valley.
