Lemon Market Sees Dramatic Price Rise Nationwide

Feb 22, Kathmandu - In recent times, there has been a noticeable rise in the price of lemons. Over the past month, the wholesale price of lemons has increased by 177.49 percent.

According to the price data collected by the Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee, the average price of lemons was NPR 95.50 per kilogram on Magh 10. Currently, the price has surged by 177.49 percent to reach an average of NPR 265 per kilogram.

Looking at the main vegetable markets across the country, lemon prices vary. In Biratnagar, Jhapa, the current average price is NPR 182.50 per kilogram. Meanwhile, in Sindhuli, the price is NPR 225 per kilogram, in Birendranagar NPR 115, and in Pokhara NPR 265 per kilogram.
