Feb 24, Kathmandu - Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah, has pledged to address regional issues and promote national progress. Speaking at a rally in Itahari on Tuesday (Falgun 12), he outlined his party’s vision for inclusive development across Nepal.
“Have you had your tea? Did you have your food? The food you had is from the border areas,” Balen said. “We aim to develop a party that promotes local produce, like vegetables from Ilam, Jhapa, and Sunsari. That’s the kind of party RSP aspires to be.”
He emphasized the importance of solving agricultural problems and strengthening farming communities. “Nepal is a country that produces rice, and we need to resolve the challenges faced by farmers. We also want to develop irrigation facilities on arable land,” he added.
Balen highlighted plans to address economic issues, including tackling corruption in factories producing cooking oil and medicinal herbs. “RSP wants to create systems that prevent illegal donations and extortion in these industries,” he stated.
Addressing water scarcity, he committed to solving drinking water problems and expressed his desire to improve Nepal’s football sector. “Where do 60% of our football players come from? They come from the eastern region. We want to develop football and nurture talent,” he said.
He concluded with a message of national unity and development, emphasizing the party’s commitment to progress and integrity. “Just as I saved a life with a simple stitch, we want to run the country with honesty and dedication. RSP is the party that will lead Nepal toward a brighter future,” Balen asserted.
