Livestock sector exports surge: Exceeded Rs 15 billion in 7 months

Feb 24, Kathmandu - There has been a significant improvement in the export of livestock products from Nepal.

According to the data of the Customs Department, the total export of this sector has exceeded Rs 15 billion by the end of Magh of the current fiscal year 2082/83.

According to the data of the department, the highest export during this period was wool carpets, with a total value of Rs 6.4 billion. Similarly, wool is among the other major exported items. Wool worth Rs 3.4 billion was exported during this period.

According to the available data, the export of feedstuffs has reached Rs 2.5 billion. Similarly, the export of chhurpi is Rs 2.3 billion, which indicates that the demand for Nepali dairy products is increasing in the international market.

The export of leather is worth Rs 250 million, while the export of other dairy products has reached Rs 64 million. This data shows that agricultural and livestock-based products are making a significant contribution to Nepal's export trade.
