Feb 26, Kathmandu - In a strong stance against political extremism, Nepali Congress Chairman Gagan Thapa on Thursday criticized CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Senior Leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party Balen Shah, asserting that both harbor extremist views.
Addressing a party election rally in Surkhet on Falgun 14, Thapa expressed concerns over the emergence of radical ideologies in the country, referencing the recent Gen-Z movement during the Bhadra last week. He accused Oli and Shah of rejecting the Gen-Z movement, which he described as driven by political self-interest and extremist thinking.
Thapa warned that such radical perspectives could lead to further violence and urged the parties involved to distance themselves from these extremist approaches. He emphasized that the Nepali Congress opposes any form of extremism and is committed to creating an environment where no innocent citizen loses their life due to government violence.
The leader called for unity and peaceful political discourse, stressing the importance of safeguarding democracy and human lives above all.
