4.7 Magnitude of Earthquake hits Sankhuwasabha-Taplejung Border

Feb 27, Kathmandu - An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude struck near the Sankhuwasabha-Taplejung border area at 3:18 am today.

According to the Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) under the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC), the earthquake measured 4.7 magnitude on the local measurement (ML) with its epicenter near Topke Gola in Sankhuwasabha.

The tremors were felt in various places in Sankhuwasabha and Taplejung districts. According to initial reports, no human or material damage has been reported so far.
