Feb 27, Kathmandu - The Nepal Medical Council has fixed the minimum remuneration for doctors working under the fellowship program.
According to a notice issued by the Council's Registrar Dr. Santosh Kumar Dev, it has been decided to provide a minimum remuneration of the ninth level to keep the morale of doctors involved in the fellowship program being run by various universities, health science institutes and hospitals high and to ensure proper evaluation of their services.
The decision taken by the full meeting of the Council has been directed to all the concerned institutions to implement it in accordance with the existing medical education and health service policy of the Government of Nepal.
The notice states that it is necessary to ensure the services and facilities of the doctors participating in the fellowship program as they will be working full-time. The Council has urged the concerned educational institutions and hospitals to make necessary arrangements for the effective implementation of the decision.
