Feb 28, Kathmandu - In view of the security sensitivity of the House of Representatives elections, night-time businesses have been banned in Kaski from next Monday.
The District Administration Office has publicly notified that hotels, restaurants, dohari evenings, clubs, dance bars, and liquor shops will be allowed to operate until 9:00 PM until further notice.
The notice issued by the office has requested cooperation from all parties concerned to maintain public peace, security, and social harmony during the election period.
It is stated that the implementation of the said rules will be monitored and action will be taken as per the prevailing law if anyone is found to be disobeying the notice.
The office has also appealed not to celebrate the Phagu festival that falls on the eve of the elections in a way that causes crowds in public places.
Due to the security sensitivity of the elections and the code of conduct, the office has notified that no fairs or musical programs that cause crowds to gather on the streets and public places should be held.
The office's notice states that no one has been allowed to organize programs targeting the festival of Fagu. The office has urged families to celebrate the festival in a civilized and cultured manner at home.
