Tensions Escalate in the Gulf Region as Iran and Israel Engage in Fierce Attacks

Feb 28, Kathmandu - The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has now directly impacted other peaceful countries in the Gulf region. In Minab city, Hormozgan Province, Iran, an Israeli airstrike targeted a primary girls' school, resulting in the tragic death of five students.

According to Iran’s official news agency, Irna, outrage has erupted across the country after an innocent girls' school was deliberately targeted. In response, Iran has launched a new wave of missile strikes against Israel, causing powerful explosions in various Israeli cities, including the oil-rich areas.

The Israeli military confirmed that a significant number of missiles were launched from Iran, prompting sirens to sound across the country. Israeli air force aircraft are reportedly attempting to intercept and destroy the incoming missiles mid-air, though security experts admit that Israel’s defenses are not entirely impenetrable.

Israel has advised its citizens to stay in secure locations and strictly follow home front directives. Meanwhile, in Doha, the capital of Qatar, new explosions were heard during the second phase of attacks. The Qatari Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted all targeted missiles over its territory.

Qatar strongly condemned Iran’s ballistic missile attacks, stating that such actions violate its sovereignty and threaten regional stability. The ministry also warned that Qatar reserves the right to respond in accordance with international law.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has also condemned Iran’s attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, and Kuwait, warning of severe consequences resulting from violations of sovereignty and international norms.

The brutal escalation of this war has turned much of the Middle East into a battleground. While Iran continues to rain missiles on its own civilian and educational areas in retaliation, Israel and the US have intensified their efforts to dismantle Iran’s military capabilities.

Regional countries have activated defense systems like Patriot missiles, causing the entire Gulf sky to echo with the sounds of missiles and explosions.
