JSP Nepal candidate Yadav released from custody after validity of funds confirmed

Mar 04, Kathmandu - Asheshwar Yadav, the candidate from Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal for Siraha-3, has been released from custody. Yadav was detained along with four others last night near the Nepal-India border in the Mader area, with nearly 4.87 lakh rupees in cash and election materials.

The police released Yadav after confirming the legality of the amount found with him. The Election Office has also inquired about the transportation of election materials in the vehicle. The authorities had previously detained Yadav during a quiet period, suspecting election code violations, but the clarification about the cash's legality led to his release.
