ICC Cricket Series Between Nepal, Oman, and UAE Suspended Amid Regional Tensions

Mar 04, Kathmandu - The tri-nation ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series involving Nepal, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been postponed, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

The series was scheduled to take place at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground on February 26. However, due to escalating conflicts in Gulf countries, the series has been postponed until further notice. CAN has stated that a new date will be announced soon.

The postponement is also linked to flight disruptions in the Gulf region caused by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran. Recently, the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran, which has responded with missile strikes on US bases in the Gulf, further destabilizing the region.

Currently, 20 Nepali players are in a closed training camp preparing for the series. Nepal is placed seventh among the eight teams in League 2, with 12 points from 20 matches. Meanwhile, the UAE has 10 points, and Oman leads with 24 points.
