Clear Weather Expected During Election Day Across Nepal, Slight Changes Likely in Mountain Regions

Mar 04, Kathmandu - The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that the weather will be clear across Nepal on election day, this Thursday. In a special weather bulletin issued today, the department forecasted no rainfall nationwide on election day.

The department stated that from Wednesday to the 22nd, no significant weather systems are expected to affect the country. Meteorologist Varun Poudel analyzed current weather patterns and assured that most regions will experience generally clear weather. “The weather will be clear across the country on election day. We have also been providing weather updates to the Election Commission representatives,” he said.

According to Poudel, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the Himalayan and mountainous regions with partial clouds on Friday. Today, there is a forecast of scattered rain and snowfall in some parts of the Himalayan and hilly terrains of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The Himalayan areas of Lumbini Province may experience partly cloudy weather, while other regions are expected to remain mostly clear. The Terai region, including Madhesh Province, is forecasted to have generally clear weather.

“The weather will be partly cloudy to mainly clear across most parts of the country on Thursday. Since no active weather systems are observed, heavy rainfall is unlikely,” the special bulletin from the department states. “On Friday, light rain and snowfall may occur in some parts of the Himalayan and hilly terrains of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Most Terai regions will remain clear.”

The department has been continuously monitoring and analyzing the weather throughout the election period. It has also assured that updates will be provided as necessary and urged relevant authorities and the public to stay informed with the latest weather information.
