Prachanda Leading in Rukum East

Mar 06, Kathmandu - In the ongoing vote tally for the House of Representatives election, Nepali Communist Party leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ maintains his lead in Rukum East. He has secured a total of 5,924 votes so far.

Meanwhile, UML candidate Lila Mani Gautam has received 2,091 votes, and Nepali Congress candidate Kusum Devi Thapa has garnered 1,709 votes, according to Chief Election Officer Shiva Prasad Khanal.

As of now, vote counting has been completed in nine wards of Bhume Rural Municipality and in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Sisne Rural Municipality, totaling 10,921 votes. A total of 297 votes have been rejected.

Counting is currently underway in wards 6 and 8 of Sisne Rural Municipality. Afterward, the vote count will proceed in Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Khanal added.
