Mar 07, Kathmandu - All ballot boxes from Chumanuwri Rural Municipality in Northern Gorkha under Gorkha-1 have been transported to the district headquarters today. Additionally, the remaining 14 ballot boxes from other polling centers were brought to the district headquarters this morning via helicopter, according to Gorkha Assistant Chief District Officer Netrprasad Sharma.
The ballot boxes from Lho Ward No. 2, Sirdibas Ward No. 3, Prok Ward No. 4, and Bihi Ward No. 5 of Chumanuwri Rural Municipality were delivered this morning. Due to difficult geographical conditions, it was necessary to airlift ballot boxes from 23 polling centers in Chumanuwri. “Although preparations to bring these ballot boxes were made yesterday, bad weather prevented their transportation,” Sharma stated. “As soon as the weather cleared this morning, the army helicopter transported all remaining ballot boxes to the district headquarters.”
Previously, on Friday, the army helicopter had transported ballot boxes from nine polling centers. With the collection of ballot boxes from Gorkha-1 now complete, preparations are underway to begin vote counting today.
