Mar 07, Kathmandu - Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been declared the winner in Chitwan-2. He secured a total of 54,402 votes.
His main competitor, Mina Kumari Kharel from the Nepali Congress, received 14,564 votes.
In addition, Asmin Ghimire from CPN (UML) garnered 6,992 votes, while Pratap Gurung of the Nepali Communist Party obtained 4,469 votes, according to Chief Election Officer Kedarnath Poudel.
Lamichhane had previously secured 54,176 votes in the by-election held in 2080. During that election, the Nepali Congress candidate received 11,214 votes, and the UML candidate received 10,936 votes.
A total of 137,152 voters were registered in this constituency, with 87,221 votes cast. There were a total of 23 candidates from various political parties and independent groups contesting in this election.
