Mar 07, Kathmandu - In the recent parliamentary election for Parsa-2, Sushil Kumar Kanu of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been declared the winner. Election Officer Madhu Sudan Acharya announced that Kanu secured a total of 30,740 votes.
The main contenders in the race included Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya of the Nepali Congress, who received 11,890 votes, and Rima Kumari Yadav of CPN (UML), who garnered 11,605 votes. Additionally, Ashok Kumar Agrawal of the Janata Samajwadi Party received 2,642 votes, while Bina Jaiswal of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party secured 1,999 votes.
A total of 31 candidates contested in the election, including 14 independents and 17 party-affiliated candidates. Out of the 95,120 registered voters in Parsa-2, 65,878 votes were cast directly. Of these, 4,568 votes were invalid, while valid votes totaled 61,310.
