Mar 07, Kathmandu - In the latest election updates from Jhapa-5, Balendra Shah (Balen) is emerging as the clear frontrunner, with results indicating an almost certain victory. According to the most recent vote count, Shah has secured 52,096 votes, maintaining a commanding lead over his closest rival, UML Chairman Oli, who trails by 38,065 votes with 14,031 votes.
A total of 106,352 votes were cast in this constituency. As the vote tally approaches its final stages, it appears that the remaining uncounted votes will not significantly alter the outcome.
While other candidates, including Ranjit Tamang, Mandhara Poudel, and Samir Tamang, are also competing in the race, their impact on the results seems minimal at this stage.
With the final phase of vote counting underway, Shah’s victory in Jhapa-5 is widely considered almost certain, reaffirming his rising popularity among the voters.
