Mar 08, Kathmandu - In a statement made during the 'Shield of the Americas Summit' held in Doral, Florida, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the U.S. military has destroyed 42 Iranian naval vessels over the past three days. Addressing leaders from 12 Western countries, Trump asserted that recent military operations have inflicted significant damage on Iran's navy.
According to Trump, the recent military actions have severely impacted Iran's naval capabilities. He claimed that Iran's air force has been weakened, and its primary communication and telecommunication networks have been disrupted. Trump stated that following U.S. strikes, Iran's navy has become ineffective and that the country's military and communication infrastructure have suffered serious setbacks.
Earlier, on February 28, the United States and Israel announced the launch of a "major military campaign" against Iran. Since then, regional tensions have escalated sharply, with Iran reportedly retaliating by launching continuous attacks on American and Israeli targets across the Middle East.
According to semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Iranian forces have launched approximately 600 missile strikes and employed around 2,600 drones over the past week. These attacks have targeted nearly 200 military and strategic sites associated with the United States and Israel.
Analysts suggest that the increasing military activity between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has heightened security concerns in the Middle East. The recent developments have raised fears of further regional escalation, prompting the international community to closely monitor the situation.
