Judicial Commission Submits Report on Gen-Z Movement of Bhadra 23-24 to Government

Mar 08, Kathmandu - The Judicial Commission has submitted its report to the government regarding the Gen-Z movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.

Chairman Gauri Bahadur Karki handed over the report to Prime Minister and Council of Ministers President Sushila Karki during a program held at the Prime Minister's Office today.

In the program, Chairman Karki stated that the commission worked honestly and presented facts without any bias. He also mentioned that the report includes suggestions to prevent such incidents in the future.

“The incident occurred due to mismanagement. Regulatory bodies have been distorted. There is procrastination everywhere — in the judiciary and the executive,” he said. “The growing frustration is linked to the practice of party-based appointments, from judges to constitutional positions. If implemented properly, this report could transform the country's image.”

Commission member Science Raj Sharma noted that since the report is only an inquiry, the relevant authorities must now conduct investigations and that the commission has laid the groundwork for such inquiries.

Another member, Bishweshwor Bhandari, emphasized that implementing the recommendations related to good governance could significantly change the country's situation.

Prime Minister Karki, accepting the report, said she and the Home Minister would study it thoroughly and present it to the Council of Ministers.

“You all have worked hard. Initially, due to the timeline and resources we set, it was not possible to complete the work. We had to extend the time. However, I trust your expertise and qualifications in the fields of justice, law, and investigation, which is why you were appointed,” she stated. “I believe you have provided a clear and truthful report. Now, the implementation process will proceed. We will discuss how to make it public. If we cannot publish the entire document after reviewing the details, we will at least share the conclusions.”
