Counting of 1.3 Million Votes in Proportional Representation completed: 6 parties to get seats

Mar 10, Kathmandu - The vote count for the proportional representation segment of Nepal's parliamentary elections is in its final stages, according to the Election Commission. As of now, a total of 103,090,17 votes have been tallied.

The latest results show the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leading with approximately 4.95 million votes, securing the top position. Following closely, the Nepali Congress has garnered around 1.67 million votes, placing it second. The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) stands third with about 1.39 million votes.

Other notable results include the Nepal Communist Party with around 754,268 votes and the emerging Shram Sanskriti Party with approximately 348,178 votes. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has received about 323,097 votes. These six parties have crossed the threshold, qualifying for recognition as national parties.

Additionally, the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has secured roughly 170,092 votes, while the Rashtriya Parivartan Party has received approximately 165,100 votes. The Janmat Party has logged about 75,730 votes, and the combined votes for the Rastriya Mukti Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Party under the 'Chakia' symbol total around 60,549 votes.

The final results are expected to shape the new political landscape as Nepal moves closer to announcing its official parliamentary composition.
