Mar 15, Kathmandu - Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of its Kathmandu–Doha flights after suspension due to the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. This marks the airline's first scheduled flights on this route since tensions escalated in the Gulf region.
The airline revealed new flight schedules, with flights from Doha to Kathmandu on March 16 and 17, and from Kathmandu to Doha on the same dates, as well as March 18. Additionally, Qatar Airways plans to operate some point-to-point flights and encourages eligible travelers to contact the airline directly.
However, the airline has emphasized that these flights will not operate as usual and will be conducted with extra caution to ensure passenger safety. This development is expected to provide relief to many travelers, including Nepalis transiting through Doha.
The conflict, which began on February 28 when Iran launched attacks on U.S. and Israeli targets, continues to impact regional air travel. Several flights have been canceled or rerouted, and Doha’s Hamad International Airport remains closed, leaving two Qatar Airways aircraft stranded in Kathmandu.
With heightened security concerns across Gulf countries, airlines are exercising caution, and many flights are experiencing delays, cancellations, or route changes. Qatar Airways has advised passengers to check their official website, mobile app, or travel agents for the latest updates and to avoid arriving at the airport without confirmed tickets.
