Three Killed in Road Accidents in Mahottari, Bara and Sunsari

Mar 17, Kathmandu - Madhesh Province has witnessed a series of tragic road accidents this Monday, resulting in the loss of three lives.

In Mahottari District, a collision on the road in Bardibas Municipality-1, Ratopul area, claimed the life of 41-year-old Ashok Shah of Bardibas-14. The accident occurred when a truck with license plate Province 3-01-006 KHA 0738 struck a motorcycle with license plate MPR 02-008PA 9468. Sah succumbed to his injuries at Subha Swostik Hospital in Bardibas after being seriously injured. The truck driver fled the scene, and police are actively searching for him.

In Bara District, a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Simroungadh Municipality-5 resulted in the death of 45-year-old Surendra Mahato, a resident of Simroungadh-5. The accident involved motorcycles with license plates BR 05 AA 8444 and BR 30 BI 4637. Mahato, who was seriously injured, died during treatment at Kaliya Provincial Hospital. The driver of the motorcycle with license plate BR 30 BI 4637 has been detained by police, while two others injured in the crash are receiving treatment at Himal Hospital in Birgunj.

In Sunsari District, a motorcycle lost control and crashed in Barju Rural Municipality-2, killing 32-year-old Jay Krishna Yadav from Biratnagar-14. Yadav died from severe injuries sustained in the accident while undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate these incidents as the community mourns the loss of lives on the roads.
