Outbreak of Measles in Dhorpatan: 67 Patients Have Recovered, 20 Still Under Treatment

Mar 17, Kathmandu - In Dhorpatan, the measles outbreak that began in the first week of Falgun has affected 126 residents. Currently, 67 patients have returned home after recovery, while 20 are receiving treatment in isolation at Bobang Health Post and Burtibang Hospital.

According to Provincial Health Office Chief Prabin Sharma, 16 patients are hospitalized at Burtibang Hospital and 4 at Bobang Health Post. The outbreak impacted villages including Bobang, Serabang, and Lakuribot.
The National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu confirmed measles infection in seven individuals, prompting an urgent search and treatment effort for affected patients.

Meanwhile, Raju Khatri, Supervisor of the Immunization Program at the Public Health Office, reported that a total of 5,767 people have received measles vaccinations. The vaccinations targeted adolescents aged 10 to 19 years across all wards of the municipality.
