Mar 17, Kathmandu - China has urged Afghanistan and Pakistan to remain calm and exercise restraint.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the call on Tuesday. Jian also called on both sides to reach a ceasefire through dialogue as soon as possible.
He made the remarks during an interview with reporters about the recent Afghanistan-Pakistan conflict.
Noting that Afghanistan and Pakistan cannot remain isolated from each other, Lin said dialogue and consultation are the only effective ways to resolve their problems.
Lin also confirmed that China has urged Afghanistan and Pakistan to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions. He also said that China will play a constructive role in reducing tensions and improving relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
