Mar 19, Kathmandu - Heavy rainfall and storms have claimed the lives of at least 17 people and injured 30 others in the city of Karachi.
According to rescue officials, 11 fatalities occurred when a wall collapsed in the Baldia Town area. In Qayyumabad, a couple lost their lives after their house roof collapsed. Six additional deaths have been reported from other locations across the city.
The continuous heavy rains have led to widespread flooding in many parts of Karachi. Water accumulation on roads has disrupted traffic, severely affecting daily life.
The local administration has issued warnings urging residents to stay cautious as strong winds and ongoing rainfall persist. Emergency teams have been deployed in various areas to facilitate water drainage and rescue operations.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted that heavy rains and storms are likely to continue in Karachi and other parts of Sindh province for the coming days.
