Nepali Congress Central Committee Holds Key Meeting Amid Leadership Uncertainty

Mar 20, Kathmandu - The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee has begun. The meeting was held at the party's central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur on Friday (Chaitra 6) afternoon, informed Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel.

It is said that the resignation of President Gagan Thapa, election results and other issues will be discussed in the meeting. Thapa, who resigned from the post, did not attend the meeting. The meeting was conducted with the president's chair vacant.

Party Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that a proposal will be submitted in the meeting to review the election and reject Thapa's resignation. He resigned, taking moral responsibility for the party's defeat in the House of Representatives elections.
