'Gen-Z Movement' Demands Transparency on Karki Commission Report, Alleging Suppression of Truth

Mar 24, Kathmandu - Gen-Z Movement has expressed serious concern over the non-publication of the Karki Commission’s investigation report concerning the Gen-Z movement, accusing the government of lacking transparency and accountability.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, the movement criticized the withholding of the report, claiming it contradicts principles of transparency, responsibility, and good governance.

"The report, which is believed to offer insights into the country's political direction, cannot be kept hidden," the statement emphasized.

The movement accused the government of misuse of state authority during the protests and alleged that citizens' right to factual information and public awareness has been unjustly denied.

Nepal Youth Movement has given an ultimatum to the government to publish the report by the 13th of this month.
Failure to comply within this deadline will trigger a powerful protest, including a siege of Shital Niwas, the official residence of the Prime Minister.

The statement further asserted that the government must take full responsibility for all circumstances arising from the ongoing protests.

Reaffirming their commitment to protecting democratic values and citizens' rights, the movement warned of taking further stringent actions if necessary.
