Madhes Clinches Victory Over Karnali in Prime Minister Cup

Mar 30, Kathmandu - Madhesh Province secured a five-wicket win against Karnali Province in the Prime Minister Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament.

In a thrilling match held at Shree Ram Janaki International Stadium in Janakpur on Monday, Madhesh chased down a target of 130 runs in 24.5 overs, losing only five wickets. With this victory, Madhes has achieved its third consecutive win and currently tops the points table with 7 points.

For Madhesh, Niraj Yadav scored 38 runs, while Arnik Yadav contributed 32 runs. On the bowling front, Madhes's Aashik Baith claimed four wickets, supported by Bishwa Patel and Arnik Yadav, who took two wickets each, and Pradip Paswan with one.

Karnali, choosing to bat after winning the toss, was bowled out for 129 runs in 31.2 overs. Rabindra Shahi was the top scorer for Karnali with 40 runs, but his efforts were not enough to secure the win. Madhes's bowlers limited their opponents effectively, leading to their victory.
