Nepal to Evacuate Stranded Citizens from Kuwait Amid Middle East Conflict

Mar 31, Kathmandu - Nepal is set to bring back its citizens stranded in Kuwait due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. A charter flight operated by Kuwait Airways, a Boeing 777-300 wide-body aircraft, has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to facilitate the evacuation.

According to Binod Singh Rawat, Information Officer at Gautam Buddha International Airport, the aircraft is scheduled to land in Bhairahawa on Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 PM, carrying Nepali nationals wishing to return home. It is estimated that approximately 300 passengers could be onboard.

The evacuation effort is coordinated with the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait, aiming to repatriate Nepali citizens affected by the disrupted Nepal–Kuwait flights caused by the regional conflict.

The aircraft will depart from Bhairahawa at 6:15 AM, heading to Lahore, Pakistan, where it will load cargo before returning to Kuwait, the airport authorities confirmed.
