Apr 03, Kathmandu - D.P. Aryal, Vice Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has officially filed his candidacy for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives. The nomination was registered at the Parliament Secretariat on Friday.

His proposer is Speaker Rabi Lamichhane, with Sobita Gautam supporting his candidacy.

During a parliamentary party meeting held on Thursday, Party Chairman Lamichhane proposed Aryal's name for the Speaker's position. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has announced that the election for the Speaker will take place on Sunday, with nominations scheduled to be filed on Friday.
