Apr 03, Kathmandu - Abhishek Sharma, vice-captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, has been sanctioned following a breach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) imposed a fine of 25% of the match fee and awarded him one demerit point for violating the IPL code of conduct during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday.

The violation was related to the use of inappropriate language, for which BCCI imposed the penalty. 

Abhishek Sharma accepted the offense under Level 1, Section 2.3, and also accepted the punishment handed down by the match referee, as stated in a BCCI official release.

In the match against Kolkata, Sharma scored 48 runs off 21 balls, helping Hyderabad secure a comfortable 60-run victory.
