Apr 03, Kathmandu - Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has assured that the Speaker of Parliament will not suppress the opposition.

Speaking to journalists following the registration of Deputy Speaker D.P. Aryal's candidacy, Lamichhane stated, "He will no longer be part of the party. According to the roles prescribed by the constitution and democratic principles, he will operate accordingly. There will be no suppression of the opposition from his side."

He further clarified that discussions regarding the Deputy Speaker will only begin after the completion of the Speaker's election process. Lamichhane emphasized that the process will proceed through coordination with other parties and adherence to parliamentary procedures.
