18 Individuals Arrested Near TIA for Harassing Travelers and Engaging in Unlawful Activities

Apr 04, Kathmandu - The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu has arrested 18 individuals near Tribhuvan International Airport for allegedly harassing travelers and engaging in unlawful activities.

According to Police Spokesperson SP Pawan Bhattarai, the arrests were made last night following complaints about harassment and misconduct at the airport area.

The suspects include Rajkumar Rai from Sindhuli, Surya Majhi from Sarlahi, Mangalman Ghalan, Bishwo Moctan, Ajay Lama from Makwanpur, Akeesh Tamang from Banke, Premkumar Magar, Khagendra Limbu from Panchthar, Ashish Khatiwada from Morang, Birendra Jha from Dhanusha, and Lada Mia from Siraha.

Additional detainees are Pashuram Rai from Morang, Raghubir Sah from Dhanusha, Sarojsen Kumar Mahato from Mahottari, Santu Tamang from Ramechhap, Ramprasad Joshi, and Bimalraj Joshi from Bajhang.

SP Bhattarai stated that the suspects have been involved in forcibly pulling travelers, luring them into their hotels, taking commissions from hotels and travelers, and engaging in rude behavior towards passengers.
