Major Political Parties in the National Assembly Agree on Distribution of Vacant Vice-Chair and Committee Chair Positions

Apr 05, Kathmandu - The National Assembly parties have agreed on the distribution of the vacant vice-chairman and committee chairmen. The parties in the National Assembly have reached an agreement on the distribution of shares. According to which, the third largest party, UML, will get the vice-chairman.

UML MP Leela Bhandari is registering her nomination for the vice-chairman post on Sunday.

The time for nominations has been fixed from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Earlier, the vice-chairman was also given to UML.

Similarly, the first largest party, the Nepali Congress, will get two of the four committees of the National Assembly. The Nepali Communist Party and the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal will get one committee each. Accordingly, the chairman of the Legislative Committee and the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee will go to the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, the chairman of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee (NCP) will get it. Similarly, the chairman of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will go to the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal.

The chairman of the National Assembly has been changing every two years.

NCP parliamentary party leader Jhaku Prasad Subedi said that the decision was reached through consensus among the parties.
