Apr 07, Kathmandu - In celebration of World Health Day, Kathmandu hosted a program where Health and Population Minister Nisha Mehta highlighted the vital interconnectedness between human health, animal health, and the environment. She stressed the importance of strengthening the 'One Health' concept to ensure holistic well-being.
Minister Mehta emphasized that nature must be preserved, and animals must be kept healthy for humans to remain fully healthy. She pointed out that collaboration among public health, agriculture, livestock, and environmental sectors is essential. Recent times have seen new challenges emerge due to the interconnectedness between humans and animals.
The Minister also reminded that Nepal's constitution guarantees health as a fundamental right, underscoring the government's commitment to holistic health approaches.
