Former Australian Soldier Arrested on Charges of War Crimes in Afghanistan

Apr 07, Kathmandu - As US President Donald Trump's deadline to open the Strait of Hormuz approaches, the Iranian president has confirmed that more than 14 million citizens are ready to sacrifice their lives to defend the country. President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X, saying that he was also ready to sacrifice for the country.

"More than 14 million proud Iranians have declared their readiness to dedicate their lives to the defense of Iran. I too have been, am and will be a sacrifice for Iran," he wrote.

Earlier, Iran's Deputy Sports Minister Alireza Rahimi called on athletes, artists, students and teachers to form a "human chain" around the power plant. The move was in response to US President Trump's ultimatum, in which he threatened to bomb all power plants and major bridges in the country if Iran did not resume shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

“If Iran does not come to an agreement by 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, all major bridges and power plants in the country will be destroyed,” Trump said at the White House on Monday. According to him, this could be a plan to “target the entire country in one night.”

The Iranian president’s call came in response to US threats, which have inspired young people and citizens to take an active role in protecting their own security and national assets.

Trump said that this is a “critical period” and that he has given Iran enough time to negotiate and that the results will now be seen immediately.
