Apr 09, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who has been in police custody for the past 13 days, was released today on bail.
According to Ramesh Thapa, head of the Kathmandu District Police Office, Lekhak was released after being kept in custody for investigative purposes and required to appear when necessary.

In accordance with the court's order and with the agreement of the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor's Office, Lekhak has been placed under the responsibility of his family.
His detention was initially made based on a report by a commission formed to investigate the use of force and human rights violations during the August protests.
